About Push

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Push Birth Partners (Push) was officially established in 2020 and received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Push is made up of passionate public health professionals, community health workers (CHWs), and advocates dedicated to improving maternal health experiences and outcomes. We recognize the need for locally based interventions, cultural sensitivity and humility, quality improvement, and access to care. Our services are available for women and expectant families, with an emphasis on the marginalized, uninsured, and high-risk communities.

Our Story

The motivation behind Push started with the maternal health journey of Jacqueline McLeeland. Her experiences led to the foundation of a network of various maternal health advocates, followed by the collaboration of medical and public health professionals.

This organization was birthed out of personal experiences that make us unique in the sense of having a deeper connection to our mission and the communities we serve. Not only are we comprised of families who have experienced loss during birth, women who developed health issues while pregnant, individuals who once lacked the resources for adequate maternal care, and women who were once a high-risk pregnancy; we are also a team comprised of various nationalities and professional backgrounds who continue to overcome the unanticipated challenges of life.

We are dedicated to leveraging our personal experiences and professional skills to collectively Push for improved maternal health experiences and outcomes throughout Texas and beyond.

Purpose

To build a trusted partnership and support system for the improvement of maternal health experiences and outcomes; before, during, and after pregnancy, no matter your ZIP code.

Our commitment is to moms and moms-to-be, their health, and their holistic well-being.

Vision

A healthy birth experience for every woman, every child, and every family.

Mission

To partner with women and expectant families in Texas for improved maternal health outcomes.
