Volunteer / Intern with PUSH
We are building an environment supportive of women, moms, and families.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with PUSH. Volunteers are a vital part of our mission and help us in many ways. We appreciate everyone who gives us the gift of their time, knowledge, and skills. This page will provide you with information regarding our volunteer program including general requirements, areas of focus, current opportunities, and more.
We welcome an array of volunteers who are interested in contributing their time and talents. Completion of the PUSH Volunteer Application is required. If you do not see a specific posting of interest and would like to contribute your time in other areas, we welcome you and ask that you complete the PUSH Volunteer Application and a member of our team will follow-up with you.
Qualifications and Volunteer Clearance
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and complete the clearance process, which includes a background screening check. Volunteer clearance must be renewed every two years.
Volunteer / Internship Opportunities:
Marketing, PR, and Communications Coordinator
Location: Remote
Compensation: Unpaid
Duration: 12 months
Hours: 6 - 12 hours per week
Responsibilities:
-
Develop, implement, & oversee a marketing, publicity, & social media strategy to increase overall awareness of the organization’s mission & activities.
-
Develop advertising materials and prepare articles for newsletters and digital media as needed.
-
Write and edit press releases.
-
Write and edit articles for newsletters.
-
Work with internal team and for marketing and communications related matters.
-
Develop, review, and communicate information to various stakeholders.
-
Maintain a respectful relationship with clients and staff
-
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
2 years of related experience in communications, marketing, community outreach, business, or related fields.

Ability to thrive in a multi-cultural work environment.

Care Manager
Location: Remote
Compensation: Unpaid
Duration: 6 - 12 months
Hours: 5 - 10 hours per week
Responsibilities:
-
Provide guidance and instructional support to new and experienced CHWs and members of the care team.
-
Develop CHW resources and tool.
-
Collaborate with management to create an onboarding and orientation program inspiring CHW success.
-
Design surveys to evaluate client experience and CHW satisfaction.
-
Develop well-targeted and effective programs while helping to build the Care System program and services.
-
Identify the health care and social needs of individuals in communities and focused areas.
-
Assist with the development of training materials, coordinate strategies for learning, curriculum building, and health promotion while addressing social determinants of health (SDOH).
-
Work collaboratively and effectively within a team.
-
Organize and participate in company events.
-
Discuss health concerns with members of the community.
-
Advocate for individual and community health needs.
-
Effectively work with people (staff, clients, doctors, agencies, etc.) from diverse backgrounds in reducing cultural and socio-economic barriers between clients and institutions.

Qualifications:

CHW Certified, or related certification.
-
2+ years of managerial experience.
-
Case management experience.
-
High degree of professionalism.

Care Navigator
Location: Remote
Compensation: Unpaid
Duration: 6 - 12 months
Hours: 4-8 hours per week
Responsibilities:
-
Answer and place inbound and outbound calls.
-
Apply motivational interviewing skills to engage clients and better understand their immediate and long-term needs.
-
Provide information to clients with the goal of increasing client knowledge and participation in their own health care management.
-
Advocate for client by sharing information with applicable team members and community-based providers to include follow-up closed loop referrals.
-
Initiate intake process for clients transitioning from navigation to care management and/or care education counseling services.
-
Escalate question or issues to the appropriate Care Associate or Care Manager.
-
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the client portal and other electronic information/documentation systems as applicable.
-
Provide administrative support to Care Systems programs and services.
-
Support and collaborate with care team.
-
Perform community outreach initiatives.
-
Prepare reports assigned by management.
-
Report on assigned metrics during in-service meetings.
-
Perform other associated tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

CHW Certified

Minimum of 1 year of office experience, specifically in customer service call center, data entry, or health services/administration office.

High degree of professionalism.

Self-motivated, flexible, and possesses high level of personal integrity.
