Titi Otunla is a Master's prepared Certified Nurse-Midwife with more than 30 years’ experience caring for low- and high-risk pregnant women. Her midwifery journey started in England, supporting women with home birth. The last 20 years have been in the U.S. She currently leads a team of midwives at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women. The Women’s Specialists at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women believes that every woman should have access to midwifery care and supports women in their quest for woman-centered, and informed healthcare.

Titi is passionate about empowering women to be their own best advocates especially in matters concerning their sexual health, pregnancy, and childbirth. She believes that pregnancy and birth are transformational times in women’s lives and that women must be supported to fully experience the magic of birth. She chooses to be a hospital midwife because it allows her to provide holistic support to women and be part of the wonder and joy of childbirth while also having access to medical expertise if needed for unexpected birth emergencies.

Her focus is on improving maternity care and reducing the health disparities that affect maternal mortality and poor birth outcomes especially for women of color. She participated in the Texas maternal mortality task forces case review committee that lent support in finding solutions to improving maternal outcomes for women in Texas. Titi is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and is on the Advisory Board of the Texas Children’s Health Plan. She lives in Houston with her husband and is mother to two children.
