Push is a  501(c)(3) maternal health nonprofit organization that serves women, moms-to-be, and families. To accomplish our mission, Push is 1) comprised of passionate public health professionals, peer support advocates, community health workers (CHWs), and patient advocates who are dedicated to improving maternal health experiences and outcomes and 2) works with various community partners, action committees, hospitals, agencies, and other organizations. Push is committed to giving back through hands-on opportunities in a multidisciplinary environment to mission-driven volunteers and committed interns. 

The right candidate will play a vital role in securing funds to advance the organization's mission and programs by assisting and supervising in all areas of the grant cycle process. 

Our volunteer program requires a one-year commitment. However, flexibility will be granted for the right candidate who is seeking a seasonal internship and/or internship for college credit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on supervision of the proposal and submission process, including compiling, writing, editing, and submitting grant applications.

  • Understand the objective, structure, and financial needs of the organization. 

  • Assist with improving grant approval results through evaluation, coordination, and re-design of the grant process. 

  • Report to management on the status of projects and workflow. 

  • Consistently evaluate team performance and provide feedback to members and management.

  • Other duties as applicable.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field. 

  • University students pursuing related degrees and seeking internships are welcome to apply.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from different cultural, economic and geographic backgrounds with varying degrees of stress and familial hardship

  • Experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or similar field.

  • Project management skills.

  • High degree of professionalism.

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and possesses high level of personal integrity.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong written and verbal skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Desire to support Push’s mission.

  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of Push volunteers, partners, beneficiaries, donors, and other stakeholders.

  • Knowledge and experience using marketing platforms such Canva, Mailchimp, social media software applications, etc.

  • Given the nature of Push’s mission—its commitment to the community, stakeholders, and supporters—all volunteers/interns are subject to a background check.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
